“Girls on track in Abu Dhabi with Team Kessel”

Kessel is eager to announce that a women-only team will run in the Pro-AM class in the upcoming “The Gulf 12 Hours” race.

“The Gulf 12 Hours” – which will be hosted at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on December 15th - is one of the most prestigious endurance races in the region and Kessel has won in the competition for three years in a row.

This year, Kessel is eager to introduce a team made up of three female drivers - Manuela Gostner, Rahel Frey, Michelle Gatting - that will battle for the Pro-AM trophy in a 488 GT3 Ferrari.
Manuela Gostner (34) was born in Bolzano (Italy); Rahel Frey (32) was born in Niederbipp (Bern, Switzerland); Michelle Gatting was born in Denmark in 1993.

This participation was made possible at the initiative of Deborah Mayer. A passionate of motorsport and ambassador for woman racing at Ferrari, Mayer came up with the idea and was able to implement it, driven by the will to give birth to something new and innovative in motorsport.

The team is officially supported by the FIA Women In Motorsport Commission. The Commission has more than 70 national representatives in the world, whose mission is to help implement initiatives in their respective countries in order to create a motorsport culture that facilitates and values the full participation of women in all aspects of motorsport.
