The 3902 cc V8 offers the highest performance ever, no turbo lag and an unmistakable sound. Starting from the RHT (Retractable Hard Top) around which the entire project was developed, every aspect of the 488 Spider has been designed to define the technological benchmarks for the industry. This is how the most powerful and innovative Ferrari spider was created, combining the extraordinary qualities of the 8-cylinder engine, already existent in the coupe version 488GTB, with the pleasure of driving on sinuous and demanding roads, immersed in the colours and scents of nature, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of the Ferrari V8.

 

At the heart of the car is the 3902 cc V8 Turbo engine, a new benchmark for this type of architecture.  Thanks to the 670hp maximum power output and the progressive torque delivered, gear after gear, by the Variable Torque Management, the 488 Spider accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds flat and from 0 to 200 km/h in 8.7.

TECHNOLOGY

DYNAMIC STYLE
Dynamic style. The front is characterised by the dual grille, channeling air to the radiators. The double front spoiler calls to mind that of the F1 single-seaters. In the middle, the two pylons are combined with a deflector that channels the air towards the flat underbody.
FUNCTIONAL AESTHETICS
At the tail, the scene is dominated by the blown spoiler, by the airflow evacuation ducts, and by the new exhausts, raised and split, to make room for the new aerodynamic diffuser, which denotes a style completely devoted to performance.
PROTECTED FROM THE ELEMENTS, ALWAYS
With the RHT closed, life on board is the same as in a coupe, sheltered from the elements but without the aerodynamic noises typical of cars with a canvas roof. In top down driving, on the other hand, the study of aerodynamics has, in any case, made it possible to keep those on board sheltered.
